                                                        10. Learn Self-Hypnosis

Managing stress, coping with discomfort, or motivating yourself to take on a challenge may be as simple as harnessing the power of your mind. Wendy Packer, a certified hypnotist and registered nurse who practices in New Rochelle, became convinced of this after working with her mother, who experienced extreme sensitivity to touch and pressure at the site of her bypass surgery incision. Packer’s mom visualized a numbered dial, with 10 being the most uncomfortable and one the least uncomfortable. “So when she hypnotized herself, she would actually see herself lowering her discomfort level by lowering the dial and doing something that she enjoyed, which distracted her from thinking about her discomfort,” Packer says. Using thoughts to influence beliefs and, in turn, improve physical symptoms is a key element. She cautions, however, that self-hypnosis is an adjunct to mainstream medicine and should not be used to eliminate pain, because pain is a symptom requiring medical intervention. Still, scientific literature supports self-hypnosis as a tool for self-improvement and better overall well-being, she says.

NOW... DO YOU WANT TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BODY AND  REACH YOUR PEAK POTENTIAL PHYSICALLY?

There's no better way to achieve success than with a system that’s powerful and easy to use. Isagenix programs and products offer amazing nutritional support and  are designed to help everyone live a healthy, clean, and lean lifestyle. That's why our systems - Cleansing, Nutrition, Skin Care, and Wealth - have helped thousands of people reach their goals.

It’s vitally important to cleanse our bodies as we are exposed to many toxins in our daily lives. We eat, drink them and absorb them through our skin. We use drugs--prescription and over the counter. We eat sugar and refined foods. All of these things cause degeneration of our cells and the toxins get stored in our fat cells PLUS.........Due to the soil depletion, our current food supply doesn’t lend itself to have the amount of vitamins/minerals necessary for our bodies to function optimally. Supplementing the body and cleansing are the ways to live a healthy, joyful life and Isagenix is the answer.  Be proactive regarding your health!

I invite you to visit my web site www.wendypacker.isagenix.com

Here's what Lenore Rosenbaum, Director, WJCS Center for Women's Issues had to say:

Dear Wendy: Thank you so much for your well-presented an informative workshop for the WJCS Center for Women's Issues. The topic, "Understanding the Power of Hypnosis", provided interesting insights into a facet of healing that many women do not really understand. You certainly have a great command of your subject, which you conveyed so well to the group as well as dispel some of the misconceptions about hypnosis. You were able to peak their curiosity about hypnosis and relaxed us all! I had a great night's sleep! On behalf of the attendees and myself, we are so grateful for your generosity of time and expertise. I look forward to working with you again in the future.

Sincerely, Lenore Rosenbaum, MS

Here's what Marjorie MacAllister had to say from the Bronxville Adult School after Wendy's workshop on Stress Relief.

Dear Wendy, Thanks so much for sharing your time and expertise with us this fall. You have touched many people with your work - I have heard wonderful things about the last class from a number of students who were fortunate enough to attend. Being able to offer the class without a fee allows us to reach people we would not otherwise have as students. We are most grateful!

Kind regards, Marjorie MacAllister

Did you know?

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has declared stress a hazard of the workplace. Managers must deal not only with their own particular stress, but those of the people under them as well. Stress reduction results in increased productivity, health and better collaboration.

Here is another reason to use hypnosis in handling stress. Stress hormones appear to rapidly increase the formation of brain lesions, which are the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease.

According to researchers at the University of California at Irvine,
genetically modified mice injected with dexamethasone, a drug similar to the human body’s own stress hormones, showed a 60 percent increase of the protein beta-amyloid in the brain. When beta-amyloid production increases and these protein fragments aggregate, they form plaques, a major factor in the development of Alzheimer’s. The study appears in the August, 2006, issue of the Journal of
Neuroscience.
